Antique 15ct Yellow Gold Old-Cut Diamond Starburst Tie Pin, c. 1880–1910
Antique 15ct Yellow Gold Old-Cut Diamond Starburst Tie Pin, c. 1880–1910
A single old-cut diamond sits in a gold star, surrounded by tiny beads nestled in loops of twisted wire. There’s a lot of detail in a head barely a centimetre across. On a dark tie or wool lapel, the diamond would catch the light in passing.
The pin dates to the late Victorian or Edwardian period and has a twisted stem with a removable point guard.
