Alpha Omega Jewellery was created by Shane Thomson, a fine jewellery consultant with years of hands-on experience buying, selling and assessing antique, vintage and pre-owned jewellery.

Every piece offered through Alpha Omega is chosen individually. Not because it fills a category. Not because it follows a trend. Because it has character, craftsmanship and the kind of permanence that makes jewellery worth passing on.

The Curator’s Standard

We believe jewellery should be more than decorative. It should carry weight, history and meaning. A good piece does not need to shout. It has already survived years, often generations, and still has something to say.

At Alpha Omega, many pieces are viewed. Few are chosen. We look for proportion, wearability, condition, material quality, period detail and that harder-to-define quality: presence.

Why Alpha Omega Exists

Modern jewellery is everywhere. Much of it is made to be replicated, advertised heavily and replaced quickly. Antique and vintage jewellery is different. These pieces were made in smaller numbers, often by hand, and many carry details that are rarely seen in contemporary production.

Alpha Omega was built for people who are drawn to authenticity over imitation. For those who would rather own one carefully chosen piece than a drawer full of forgettable ones.

Every item is sourced individually across the UK, with attention given to age, condition, design and long-term appeal.

Most pieces are antique, vintage or pre-owned. Once sold, the exact piece is unlikely to be found again.

What We Look For

Each piece is assessed with a collector’s mindset. We consider the metal, gemstones, hallmarks, period, setting style, wear, repair history and overall balance.

What We Avoid

We avoid pieces that feel tired, overly compromised or lacking in substance. A piece does not need to be flawless, but it does need to be honest.

Signs of age are not automatically flaws. In antique jewellery, gentle wear can be part of the story. What matters is whether the piece remains beautiful, wearable and structurally sound.
