Georgian 9ct Yellow Gold Cushion Signet Ring

A rare early nineteenth century cushion signet ring crafted in solid 9ct yellow gold, dating to the Georgian period and hallmarked to London in 1808. The signet face retains faint traces of its original engraving, now softly worn with time, giving the ring a quiet sense of history rather than a restored appearance.

The cushion shaped face flows into gently tapering shoulders, leading to a slim and comfortable shank that sits easily on the hand. At its thinnest point the band measures approximately 2.5mm, lending the ring a refined profile while still retaining a satisfying solidity. The wear across the surface is consistent with age and over two centuries of use, adding character without compromising structure.

This is an understated but highly evocative piece, valued as much for its survival and provenance as for its form, and increasingly difficult to find in honest condition.
