Antique 9ct Gold Pietra Dura Floral Brooch

A beautiful antique 9ct yellow gold Pietra Dura brooch, featuring an oval black hardstone panel inlaid with a delicate floral motif.

The design depicts a white flower with soft green leaves and warm-toned stems, carefully set into the dark polished ground. The contrast between the black stone and the floral inlay gives the piece a quiet, elegant presence, while the twisted gold rope border adds warmth, texture and period charm.

Measuring approximately 40mm x 30mm, the brooch is a wonderfully wearable size - substantial enough to be noticed, yet refined enough for everyday styling. The reverse is fitted with a traditional brooch pin and a small suspension loop, allowing the piece to be worn either as a brooch or as a pendant.

The brooch presents beautifully when worn. There are some light surface scratches and age-related marks to the Pietra Dura panel, visible under close inspection and shown clearly in the photographs. There are also signs of wear to the reverse, in keeping with the age and use of the piece.
